Tired, but determined!

One thing life has taught me is that as a woman, and with this being woman's month; wellness of ourselves are most crucial. Critically crucial, to slowdown, yet at the same time manage priorities. I intend on doing this when I have the time. Being a wife, mother of twins ( boy is 5 and girl is nearing 30 in attitude), being a full time fourth year student and also working as an Assistant Librarian; life can get messy. I am sometimes in aww of mothers who look like they have it all together; with regards to bag-less under eye areas, impeccable weight, clear skin and clean hair. Sometimes, I have to physically stop myself from walking up to this particular mother in question and asking why are you this perfect! I would admire mommies floating into the library, looking serene with their well-mannered child in que. I have realized just to smile, truly admire, glance and not envy as circumstances are different. Afterward I would miss my babies dearly. https://www.mindful.org/the-busier-you-are-the-more-you-have-to-slow-down/

The rat race of this world sometimes have me in a head-spin; is all this worth my lack of sleep and sanity? Worrying about meal planning, what to wear the following day to work (without looking like a homeless person) and always keeping up with the weekly themes at creche is stressful. It makes research proposals and practicums feel like a welcoming distraction! Be this as it may, I have learnt to be humble and at the same time be aware what other women have to deal with in society today.

This thought is what keeps me afloat, preventing me from having a pity-party. Many women struggle each and every day, but who am I to complain. I may say I am tired, but I have a husband who (mostly) help me with life's load. I have employment as opposed to women and children who are going hungry. I am studying towards a degree, as opposed to many that are equally desperate (or perhaps more deserving)for the opportunity to better their lives. Which brings me to this thought, be grateful for anything and everything and just keep on keeping on.

HAPPY WOMAN'S MONTH
